AOL is a free web based email services which is provided by AOL. But if you use AOL for emails and Outlook to keep your schedule and other useful tools. It will be very helpful for you, if you manage your AOL Email account in Outlook as AOL provides IMAP access.
Add AOL Email account in MS Outlook:
For this, first you have to click on File in the MS Outlook top menu. Then, in the left hand side just select Info, and after this, you have to click on Add Account. Now, just enter your AOL email address, and then you have to click on Connect option. At this point, just enter your AOL email account password, and then you have to click on Connect. After this, just click on done option. Now you will see that your AOL email account in Outlook and it will download the messages in your email account.
Manually Add AOL Email Account in Outlook:
For this, first you have to click on File option then you have to select Info. After this, just click on Add account. Then you have to select the radio button which is next to Manual setup. Now, you have to just select the radio button which is next to Pop or IMAP, and then you have to click on Next button. Now, in the Pop and IMAP Account Settings window, you have to just select the IMAP from the dropdown menu. You have to complete all the fields in the account settings window. Then, enter your name, Email Address, and after this enter your AOL email address. Next to Incoming mail server, you have to just enter the imap.aol.com. After this, next to Outgoing mail server, you have to enter smtp.aol.com. Now, for the user name, you have to enter your AOL account name without @aol.com and after this, just enter your AOL account password. At this point, just click More Settings. After this, you have to click the Outgoing Server tab. You have to keep the radio button selected to choose the same settings as my incoming mail server. Now, just click on the advanced tab. Then for IMAP and SMTP settings, you have to select SLL for both. In the Incoming server (IMAP) field, enter 993 and for the Outgoing server (SMTP) field, you have to enter 465. And click on OK button. Now, in the Add Account window, you have to click next. If all the fields were entered correctly, then the process will be completed successfully. After this, click Close option. Now, your AOL email account is added to MS Outlook. Then click Finish button.
